Warmth Within the Sunlit Glow is a close-up exploration of a sunflower’s vibrant energy, captured with bold texture and a rich color palette. The heart of the flower reveals a dense seed head, layered in deep browns and blacks, offering a tactile contrast to the surrounding petals. These petals burst outward with thick, confident brushstrokes that shift smoothly from bright yellows into warm oranges, creating a subtle gradient that adds depth and movement to the piece. Against a softly blended background of greens and purples, the sunflower stands out with a lively presence that feels both immediate and engaging.
In creating this work, I focused on the tactile qualities of oil paint, allowing brushwork to show its natural vigor while still maintaining a sense of balance and harmony.
