Where Beauty Pauses
This is an acrylic painting on canvas board. In creating it, I used lots of layers. I chose acrylic because I wanted to study the paint application. And I wanted to paint a colorful piece showing a hummingbird larger than life. I usually paint with oils, and struggled with the fast drying acrylic. I love this bird as it flits around from flower to flower in my garden. I finished the work with an isolation coat and gloss varnish.
