StatementI am a retired professional horse trainer and photographer now living in Ocala. I consider myself a black and white photographer who misses the darkroom but enjoys the immediacy of digital images. The two pieces submitted here are part of my lifelong love story with horses. I love to tell the story of my dad asking us kids if we wanted a "pony" that came with its own saddle. He read the want ads religously. I was 5 years old and Keno started me on the path that lead to a career as a professional horse trainer and a college degree in photography. Making images of horses is an obvious way for me to show my gratitude to the animals who made me the person I am today.
