Danuta Jacob

Danuta started taking painting classes in 1984. When she was cast in her first play in 1988 she had to choose between painting classes and theatre. Only room for one in addition to her day job, Theatre won. During the pandemic lockdown she retired but theatre was no longer available so she went back to painting.  She has taken many classes and is working toward finding her style. In that process she is learning from painters of old whose styles speak to her.

Statement

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved watching and learning the arts. I started learning to paint in 1984 but that went by the wayside when I was given the opportunity to act in 1988 and haven't stopped since. When I retired in 2020 I began taking up painting again. I have also always adored music. Whether I was singing or listening or dancing to it., I have been enthralled. I could not be more grateful for the knowledge and opportunities that have come my way, for the joy, healing and temporary escape I have been told I am able to  provide those who witness my acting or my paintings. I will continue to learn ways to improve both of my passions until my last day.
